Are you looking for nature, simplicity and authenticity?

Open the door of the "kerterre des grillons". For a night or more,  a truly unusual stay in the heart of the Montagne Bourbonnaise in the Allier departement, halfway between Vichy and Roanne, we introduce you to the concept of kerterre.

​

This name comes from Brittany and means "Ker": home and "terre" : land, earth so "at home on earth" , (see kerterre.org website).

It is a small, light habitat, without foundation built from natural materials: hemp, lime, sand and water that can be found locally. Their construction can be entirely manual, 100% ecological, without requiring either electricity or motor,  it respects the forest landscape and its carbon footprint is zero.

Thanks to their rounded shape, these hobbit houses are trully sympathetic and blends perfectly in the landscape.

Our project revolves around two axes:

​

1- Propose and carry out on site the construction of several kerterres on a participatory worksite mode.

From May to the end of September, we offer you the opportunity to learn how to build this inhabitat respectful of the environment during participatory workcamps in the spirit of voluntary simplicity.

The ease and speed of construction, in just a few weeks makes this project very rewarding.

The few pre-requisites necessary allow everyone to participate in the workcamp. (see more details)

2 - Now that the first kerterre is completed, we rent it out for a holiday or a couple of days a parenthesis close to the earth and nature to discover a greener lifestyle.
